SWELL Sculpture Festival

Just around the corner but not too late to attend. SWELL Sculpture Festival takes over Currumbin Beach with its annual exhibition of small and large artist-made sculptures – a unique, thought-provoking sight that all ages can enjoy.

See sculptures of all shapes and sizes, listen to special artist talks, and sculpting workshops. It’s free for ten days from September 10 to September 19. It’s free for ten days from September 10 to September 19.

Spring School Holiday 2021

The spring school holiday is the perfect excuse to head to the Gold Coast for fun on the beach and unforgettable days out at the attractions. If you’re planning to spoil the kids on their break, you can’t go with the Gold Coast.

Alongside family bonding on the beach, visit Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, Dreamworld, Movie World, Wet ’n’ Wild and GC Aqua Park. Surfers Paradise also boasts a handful of attractions – SkyPoint, Gold Coast Wax Museum, King Tutts Putt Putt and more – for a fun time the kids won’t forget.

Coolangatta Gold

It’s back! The Coolangatta Gold returns for one whole weekend with the region’s fittest athletes taking on the iconic 42km triathlon.

Not taking part? Spectating is just as fun – and free. Just head to Coolangatta Beach to soak up the atmosphere and cheer on the participants. Coolangatta Gold 2021 will take place on October 16 and October 17.

Beach 5s Rugby Festival

Not long after the Coolangatta Gold, catch Beach 5s Rugby Festival on Greenmount Beach. This fast-paced twist on standard rugby rules is exciting to watch, with all the best beach rugby teams in Australia coming together to bring home the prize.

Once again, it’s free to watch – just head to the beach and pop open a deckchair. Mark the date for October 30 and October 31.
