Start your 2016 right! Join active & healthy programs, workshops, and many more at The Arts Centre Gold Coast and Evandale Parklands from January 8 to 31 for Summer at the Cultural Precinct.
Both The Arts Centre Gold Coast and Evandale Lake will be filled with various activities and events such as dancing, live music, markets, shows, and workshops fit for all ages. Below is a quick guide for the Summer at the Cultural Precinct activities and events.
The Arts Centre Gold Coast
Have a child aged 3 or 4 years? No problem. Bring them to Play Time at The Space on January 12. Play Time is the perfect theatre introduction for kids their age. Just bring their favourite story books and help make it come to life. Take note that parental supervision required.
For older kids, there are various workshops they can choose from. A few are:
• Theatre Sports – This workshop puts your kid's imagination to the test. It is a form of improvisational theatre where a group perform scenes based on audience suggestions.
• Drama Games – Another fun improvisation to stretch their creative minds.
• Copy, Play and Learn Guitar – Your kid loves music? Perhaps he wants to learn how to play guitar and read music. This is the easiest and the most fun way to learn.
Evandale Parklands
From January 8, there will be a range of Active & Healthy programs one of which is Go Vertical Stand Up Paddleboarding. The popular stand up paddleboarding provides a great workout as it uses almost all the body muscles – arms, back, shoulders and leg.
Moreover, there will also be a series of kids activities which will stimulate and enhance their creativity and problem solving.
• Printing the Precinct on January 9
• Painting the Precinct on January 16
• Building the Precinct on January 23
• Create a Precinct Monster on January 30
Besides these, there will be regular sized board games available as well as giant games outdoors. Play a game of Chess, Connect Four, Dominos, Jenga, Noughts and Crosses, or Snakes and Ladders.
