Other Things to do in Palm Beach this Christmas and New Year

Picnic at the beach and create a sandman

Palm Beach’s pristine beaches provide the perfect backdrop for a memorable Christmas picnic. Pack your favourite holiday treats and relax by the shoreline. Take it up a notch by engaging in a friendly Mr Sandman competition with your spouse and kids – a sandy twist on the classic snowman.

Encourage creativity and bring holiday accessories for your sandy creations. Feel free to gather seashells and twigs to decorate your sandman.

Create your own Christmas ice cream.

Beat Palm Beach Gold Coast’s tropical heat by crafting your Christmas-themed ice cream. Gather family and friends for a festive ice cream-making session in your Palm Beach holiday apartment. Incorporate seasonal flavours like peppermint, strawberry, or gingerbread. Don’t forget the toppings – crushed candy canes, holiday sprinkles, and warm fudge. It’s a sweet way to infuse the holiday spirit into your Palm Beach celebrations.

Here’s a recipe for an easy Christmas ice cream you can make with the family at your Palm Beach apartment. There is no need to bring your electric mixer – a simple wire whisk will do.

Spend Christmas Day at a wildlife sanctuary.

For a unique and meaningful experience with Mother Nature, spend a day at the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. Connect with nature and see local fauna while enjoying the tranquil surroundings. Consider donating or volunteering as a group – spreading kindness and joy during the holiday season.

Have a Christmas-themed barbecue.

Gather friends and family for a Christmas-themed barbecue in your Palm Beach hotel. Grill up festive favourites like steaks, prawns, lamb chops, and chicken thighs. Splurge on oysters and sprinkle some cheese, butter, and parsley on top before grilling them. Decorate the area with solar holiday lights, lounge by the poolside, and enjoy the warm weather. This laid-back celebration allows everyone to savour the holiday spirit while relishing delicious grilled treats.

Go on a Christmas Cruise

Embark on a nautical adventure by taking a Christmas cruise along the beautiful coastline and waterways of the Gold Coast. Whether a daytime excursion or an evening cruise under the stars, this unique experience offers breathtaking views and a memorable way to celebrate the season.

Connect with loved ones abroad.

Thanks to technology, distance doesn’t have to keep loved ones apart during the holidays. Schedule a virtual gathering to connect with family and friends abroad. Share your Palm Beach festivities, exchange well wishes, and bridge the gap with holiday cheer.

Bake a Christmas galette or pie.

Bring the aroma of freshly baked goods into your holiday celebrations by baking a Christmas galette or pie. Visit a local market for seasonal fruits and ingredients, and spend a cosy day with the kids, creating a delicious masterpiece in the kitchen. Share slices with neighbours or bring them to a holiday gathering for a sweet touch.

Get a massage before the holidays start.

Amidst the busyness of the holiday season, take a moment to unwind and pamper yourself with a relaxing massage. Treat yourself to a spa day or book a massage session to rejuvenate your mind and body before the festivities kick into high gear. It’s a self-care gesture that refreshes you and prepares you to embrace the season’s joy.
